********************

Product Review is for 'Ovation Cell Therapy'. I am a user for Ovation Cell Therapy for 5 months and I have mixed reviews for this product. I give this product 3 out of 5 stars and I will explain why.
I started using this product because I wanted to dye my hair blonde and it was so damage after my dye job. My hair felt like straw after getting it professionally dyed and I was so upset. I heard about Ovation on a radio commercial 2 years ago when my hair was still healthy and figure I wouldn't need it. My hair was naturally curly and long, but now it is short. On the Ovation website http://ovationhair.com/index.html there are great reviews for this product and that was one of the reason why I decide to order the product. If you do more research on the product you will notice that there are a lot of YouTube reviews on how Ovation has worked for them. I have also found that there are some negative reviews out there saying that Ovation has not made a change to there hair texture as Ovation claims to do.
Now back to my hair texture, it is now healthy thanks to Ovation, but has not speed up the growth or made hair thicker. Ovation has regrown some of my baby hair at the top of my head , but has not increase the length. I have now decided to use 'Loreal EverPure' collection after I finish the use of the Ovation Cell Therapy System. I do try to stick with my healthy hair routine which is getting monthly half inch trim, washing my hair once or twice a week, and deep conditioning. Also want to point out that Ovation is not FDA or have the American Hair Loss seal of approval.

I really wanted to stick with this product but I don't think its worth the $100.00 you have to spend to get the shampoo, conditioner, and cream rise. I want more from my hair and Ovation might work for most people, but I don't have the patience to wait it out.

  1. I use Nutress Hair products and they are a much more affordable replacement for the same effects as ovation therapy. The Nutress protein pack and stop break products has made my hair so strong and healthy, without the risk and cost of ovation cell therapy. Check them out www.nutresshair.com

  3. I use Loreal EverSleek (smoothing) collection, and that is one of the best decisions I could have ever did!!! I recently decided to get a Brazilian Blowout to grow out my hair, and help me maintain it myself (can't afford the weekly salon press and curl meetings)and its only ben about a week and a half since I've had it but again, thus far, this is also one of the best decisions that I cold have made. My best friend just ordered Ovation, so she will tell me her results are but personally, the advertising for this collection is not all that. Majoring of its marketing is through paid programming commercials. Thanks for this review, many are necc. witnessing a change with Ovation. I currently work in a high end salon and I am constantly using products like crazy. Latest craze for thick hair: Phytodensium anti-aging hair mask + serum! :)

    1. Thank you Anonymous. I was using the moisturizing line from Loreal and I did like the results. I'm one of those people who is always trying news product ,so I would love to have your job. I still have my kerain treatment in my hair and it's been over a year now. I do hope Ovation works for your best friend, it didn't grow my hair faster than the regular amount. Have you tried Loreal's Texture Expert smoothing line, my stylist used it on my hair and it looked liked I just got another keratin treatment.

  4. If the price is a concern, Ovation has an awesome deal for their holiday gift set for 59.95 right now, while supplies last that comes with the following:
    12oz Advanced Cell therapy
    6oz advanced color therapy shampoo
    6oz advanced creme rinse
    6oz volume enhancer
    6oz thermal protection spray
    and the ovation vitamins

I've been meaning to try the cell therapy, since I'ver heard many reviewers state the shampoo/conditioner do not do much for them. I just ordered right now with my 10% discount. Hope it helps my dry/damaged hair.

    1. I too am using Biotin 5000 mcg and have noticed a difference in my nails and my hair is very healthy. I would wonder what "Vitamin" is included with this Ovation System, if it includes Biotin, then maybe that is where the results are coming from.

  5. Hmmm ANY time a company has a "new and improved" version, or a "Advanced" version of a product wich they promoted before as being this super duper awesome thing, they are only trying to milk their customers out of more $$$$$.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Khlause.

  6. Not that I want to discredit your experience. But normally hair only grows 1/2 inch per month. So if you're trimming it every moth you could possibly be counter productive. Just something to consider. I only trim my hair every six months.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This last comment is spot on. Hair grows on average a half inch per month. Some people can see an inch in a month. If you take care of your hair you can trim twice a year and be fine. Great care would include washing your hair at least 2-3 times a week, deep conditioning once a week or as needed which can be as little as once a month, use a leave in conditioner, use a heat protectant and occasionally co-wash your hair (wash w/ conditioner). When you get a trim be sure it's from a good stylist with high quality scissors that are sharpened annually otherwise your ends will fray from dull scissors. Also, avoid razor cuts as razors add texture to your ends (meaning they will fray). Best of luck and great hair to you all! From carmendoeshair.com

  7. My hair really stopped falling don't see any hairs in the shower drain anymore .i cannot believe it .its one week of using. Something in this really work. Shampoo and conditioner are ordinary but the treatment works at least in preventing hair fall or maybe my hair needed that stuff in their formula, don't know what it is but sure does work

    ReplyDelete
  8. After reading your post and others comments, I agree with the responses that indicate you are defeating the purpose of growth if you trim 1/2" monthly and hair grows 1/2" monthly. Your post actually encouraged me to try the product.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hello everyone and thanks to all for you helpful comments. I agree with previous comments about limits on cutting hair in order to see growth. When my hair was dyed blonde I had to trim it every month because it was noticeably uneven. Now 2 years later I know longer have to trim my hair every month, I only trim my ends when needed. When I mention in my blog that Ovation didn't produce hair growth is true because it is not formulated to do that. I advise everyone who decides purchase this product please read and research the ingredients before you do.

    1. Hi Anonymous, I'm sorry you have thinning edges. I to have the same problem from past hairstyling use. What I do now to keep my edges strong and fuller is by not pulling my hair into a pony tail every day or sleeping with a pony at night. Now I know its hard to avoid pony tails but try not to put them on so tight. Stay away from weave it only breaks the hair out more. My hair has responded and grows when I use vitamins. There are healthy women vitamins that you can buy at your nearest grocery store. To find out more about my health hair tips and secrets check out my Youtube channel at: http://www.youtube.com/bgood807

    2. thanks, have you tried a product that has help grow back your edges? Also I went from perming my hair to all natural and it really has broken my once long bra length hair off. Im trying to grow it back now.Its very unmanageable, and im tempted to put a perm back in my hair. I really dont want to do that but weaves can be so expensive and since I cant manage it on my own, IM STUCK. Please advise me if you can.

      Delete
    3. Anonymous, I'm not an hair expert and if you need more expert advise please ask your dermatologist. What I can advise you has work for me and my family. It's good you have stop perming your hair, perms only damage the hair. If you want to have more of a straight look w/o burning the hair try (Keratin Coppola) but make sure you have a salon apply it. Read or watch my blog on Keratin I go into more detail about how it can work to manage your hair. I use fish oil pills to help grow my hair and keep my edges strong. Also Biotin pills can help with hair, skin and nails. Fish oil and daily vitamins has help grow my edges back and try not to apply so much heat to your edges, which is the weakest part of hair. Last but not least, it is not what you apply to your hair but mostly what you put in your body.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hi Anonymous, I'm not sure what kind of medication you are on and if it is making your hair fall out or stopping it from growing. If you have a very sensitive scalp you might want to refrain from using any harsh products on your hair. I've have done some research on Ovation and it dosen't say anything about helping people who take a lot of medication. I do know that certain medication may disrupt the process of hair growth.

  15. My Beautiful Hair Will ReturnApril 27, 2013 at 1:30 AM

Hello LabelJunkie & Ladies - thank you all for your honesty & your experiences. I'm in a bit of a quandary with my hair that began this year. I was recently (March) diagnosed with thyroid issues, that left my hair destitute (one of the symptoms). Super dry, extremely brittle and sheds on my pillow resembles the remnants of a man's cut if he goes to bed without shampooing his hair.....it's tear-jerking awful!!! I recently heard Ovation hair advertising on the radio & am almost desperately interested in trying it. Your (or anyone's) suggestions for severely distressed hair is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    1. Hi My Beautiful Hair Will Return. Thanks for leaving a comment and I'm sorry that you have thyroid issues. I understand that taking medicine can help our bodies feel better but with some of the symptoms that come with medication can sometimes affect our hair. If you have thought about trying Ovation you may want to purchase the travel size which is smaller-just to see if it will work for you.
In the meantime you can start taking Biotin, which can promote healthy hair, skin and nails. For extremely damage hair I will recommend (Ojon restorative hair treatment). I use this treatment on my hair every week and it works well.

    2. Hi. I just post some Vitamis info in response to My Beautiful Hair Will Return. I forgot to mention, do not overuse any kind ot product right now. You problem is hormonal bisbalance, and nothing you can do on outside. The best you can do right now,use very gentle shampoo ( no silicones of sulfades. Do oil treatment. I mix coconut, wheat germ and Vit E oil. Put it on your hair and sculp, and have it on for few hours. I sometimes leave it overnight. Try not to use much of styling products. I know it's hard, but remember it is all temporarily.

    3. I have had a bad thyroid for over 10 years and once you get your dosages fixed your hair WILL come back.

For the first time in years my T3 was messed up two months ago. Fortunately, I know the symptoms. The first thing to start thinning on me is my eyebrows! Weird, but good to know. I was able to catch it and have my dosage adjusted and am good to go once again.

Back to hair: I have found the greatest thing for my long, bleached (going back to gray and it was the only way so as not to look like a skunk), thyroid dry hair is "It's a 10 miracle hair mask". I use it every time I wash my hair, covering it with a cheap (4 for $3 at CVS) plastic shower cap while I shower. Sometimes I put it on while doing house work, again with a cap, and leave it on for a couple of hours. My hair wasn't this soft when it was natural.

"It's a 10" can be bought almost anywhere. I got mine at Target. It's under $20 and I now swear by it.

      Good Luck!

  16. Hi this is in respond to My beautiful Hair Will Return. I had a thyroid "misfunction" and it was scary to see hair fallig off, but after you balance your thyroid it will be back to normal. Just take care of yourself. If you interested, I would recomend Puritan's Pride "Ultra Woman Daily Multi" It is high potency timed release vitamins. They are really good, have a good balance of vitamines and minerals + Hair, nails, energy and bone blend (herbal). Also, consider taking Kelp supliment. It is natural source of iodine. Everybody need it, especially if you have a thyroid problems.

    2. I want say that I don't know about any shampoo that will stop hair from falling out. I had several surgeries and illnesses in a short period of time, every time I had my hair thinning more and more I started taking biotin and had blood work done that proved my thyroid wasn't working up to speed. I'm not saying that it is anyone's problem on this blog, it never hurts to cover all your bases. I know that shampoos that lather are not good for your hair, they strip away a lot of natural oils and nutrients that are naturally on you scalp and the shaft.

  19. Hello. Anyone have any good suggestions for naturally thin hair? I have had very thin hair since I was little. 1. I will like to help you with your naturally thin hair. Can you tell me what kind of products you use on your hair now and I mean everything? You will be surprise about what you put in your hair can have a long term affect.

    2. I am using Organix Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner. I blow dry my hair everytime I wash it. I only wash it every other day and then I put Morrocan Oil in it and a leave in conditioning spray by Paul Mitchell. As for the naturally thin part some of that is from my Anemia as I have to take iron supplements everyday. I have also tried Nioxin to restor thickness and that did not help nor did I see any results after a year of use.

      Delete
    3. Ok Raven so let me say first that my sister is Anemic and she has very long thick hair. And its a good choice to continue taking iron supplements everyday especially if you are iron insufficient. Now getting down to the hair products you are currently using I must say you are are in the right direction to healthy hair care, but I would like to make some suggestions.

First thing first: Read the ingredients on each and every hair product you have. Starting with your current favorite shampoo, which may have Sulfates in it. If it dosen't have sulfates in it, it probably have other harsh ingredients like, Chloride, Sulfonate, or Sodium. A lot of companies may say its sulfate free shampoo, which is true, but they substitue with another harsh ingredient that can rob your hair of the proper nourishment's needed to maintain a healthy scalp and hair.

2nd part: Make sure your conditioner dosen't have a lot of chloride or alcohol. These ingredients will only dry out the hair more and produce more breakage. After researching your products the Organix Shampoo is not safe for your condition, but the conditioner still can be used.

I've used Morrocan Oil in the past and like it, but I prefer to use Argan Oil by One n Only because it's cheaper. You can use Argan oil for heat styling this is what I use. I know Argan oil works well because when I wash my hair, my hair dosen't smell burnt when its wet; that's how I know its protecting it.
You mention you use Nioxin to restore thickness and it's not working for you. Well my thing with hair products if I don't see a change in my hair the 2nd or 3rd time of use, then throw it away.
My hair is thicker now because I take Biotin pills everyday and sometimes I feel like my hair is too thick but I can't complain. There is a link to the Biotin that I use after my review for Ovation if you want to find out more about it.
Overall if you use the right shampoo and conditioner you will be amaze how your hair responds. I hope this was helpful for you, if you want to know more let me know and I wish you the best of luck on your hair journey.

    1. I'm sorry to hear you are having hair issues. I recommend you talk to a doctor first to see what is causing your bald spot. It could be stress, health problems, or maybe medication you are taking.

  22. My hair is all natural and I'm bald around my edges from relaxing it before I go to get it braided. I've been weaving and braiding it is very thin. A few weeks ago I decided to stop weaving it, and braiding it. I'm now shampooing and conditioning every week and on days when I have some where to go I put on a short wing that I bought when I made the decision to stop doing harm to my hair.
Now I've heard everything you all said and what I will try is the fish oil and the Nature Made Biotin Soft gel 5000 mcg. My hair is bridle and dry and once I braid it, it will not lay down. What I would like to know is what type of shampoo and conditioner would be good for me to use?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Sheila so happy you decided to go natural this will be the best choice for healthy hair care. I think wearing a wig everyday will also help you not think about what your hair looks like when you are out in public. Because your hair is dry and brittle you should probably start co-washing your hair and stay away from shampoo period. If you are not familiar with co-washing its basically means washing your hair with only conditioner. Let me know if this help you.

    1. Congratulations on your approaching wedding. I do hope that biotin give you fast results as it gave me. While you are waiting for you hair to grow to its desire length I will recommend using Cabuki. You can visit the website at http://www.caboki.com/how-hair-fiber-works
I used it a lot for my thining areas before biotin.

      Delete
  25. Will caboki damage my hair or will it cause it to become real oily.I'm try to avoid washing my hair 4 times a week. But caboki sounds great, I've seen it on tv before and though it was just a scam. I have ordered a free trial of caboki. Sooo I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for good results.Do you know if biotin only helps with the length of the hair or does it also help grow new hair? I'm real nervous about everything after i get married. In my family we do arrange marriages, i have seen the guy in person, but we didn't see each other for long enough time for him to actually notice my hair although we Skype everyday. So I'm at a point right now where I'm willing to try anything to make my hair grow or to look fuller because my hair just lies flat on my head. Anyways sorry to open my life story on this, but I like hear more from you, it makes me feel like I'm not alone in this because in the past Doctors just have made me feel like crap and told me to use Rogaine for rest of my life. I do not want to get stuck with that. I tried using rogaine for about 4-5 months before and did not see any results.

    1. I haven't had any problems with Cabuki making my hair oily and its really easy to remove with water. I really don't have to use it anymore because my balding area has grown back. You can't go wrong with a free trial and I hope it works well for you.
I used Biotin a lot in 2013 and it not only grew my hair but made it too thick, so I stop using it. I know that I shouldn't complain about it but it took a lot of work to do my hair.
I do know that it can be hard waiting for you hair to do what you want it to do. For your wedding I would recommend splurging on what will look best on you. Have you thought about getting extension or wearing a wig? A lot of women where I live always have extension in their hair and it just really takes away from what you hair really looks like. For my wedding I knew pictures would be taken so I made sure I looked my best, because those pictures last forever. Again do what is best for you and I wish you the very best of luck. Happy New Year!

      Delete
    2. Caboki is working great for me!! Thank you so much for all your recommendations!!! I've tried extension's, but its a little too noticeable on the side, i have wayy too many baby hair on both sides which makes it hard to hide the clip on's :/
I have noticed my hair starting to get thicker, which I'm so happy about, but still haven't seen any new hair growing on the scalp. Hopefully it will start soon..Although I still have loosing a lot of hair when washing it. I jus run my hand through it when washing it and 6 strands of hair come out all at once. Well I guess I just have to set back and relax for some time for good results...
I have 1 more question, have you heard anything about the Nordic hair volume product? Please let me know if you are familiar with this product and if you had any result from it...and and Happy New Year to you as well!!

      Delete
    3. Hello again I'm happy to hear Cabuki is working for you. With biotin I did not see results right away it took about a month for my body to get use to the extra biotin running through the system for it to start working. I started noticing small baby hair as well and this reassure me that it was working. I want to reassure you that humans loose at least 200 strands of hair each month. My hair sheds a lot each month to make room for new hair growth, so don't be too alarm when you notice this happening. I also want to point out stress can cause major hair loss ,so try to focus on other things that are good in your life.
Also I've never heard of Nordic hair volume, nor have I used it.

  27. Heyy labeljunkie. Okay so now it's been about 2 and half months since I've been using Biotin. In the beginning I had great results, my hair had felt thicker, fuller. But now its starting to look thinner again and my hair is still falling out like crazy. I'm still using Caboki as needed, and that's working great so far. I saw my PCP, he recommended
for me to use Spironlacton 100mg. I did some blood work too. My free testosterone(direct) was 2.6, which was high. It is supposed to be between 0.0-2.2. And my DHEA-Sulfate was 603.5 which was also high. It is supposed to be between 110.0-431.7. I will start taking spironlactone and I have improved my diet so much, but I'm not seeing any results:( I'm feeling so helpless again now. Nothing seems to be working. I know it takes aw while for results, but i just don't have much patience's anymore. I have been washing my hair with Dove shampoo. Is there is shampoo that you can recommend for me to use? Please respond asap

    Replies
    1. Please stop using Dove shampoo. Dove has sulfates in it which can do much damage to your hair. I recommend using a sulfate free shampoo like Loreal EverPure Volume Shampoo or Conditioner (if you want to keep using store bought brands). Also continue to use biotin until you reach your goal.

    1. I use to mix my shampoo and conditioners all the the time until I learn about ph balance for hair. Its more beneficial for your hair to be in balance to receive the ultimate results. I now stick to the same brand shampoo and conditioner. If you like Kerastase or Ovation brand stick with the same brand shampoo and conditioner. I hope this helps :-)

  29. Hi beautiful,
Actually I have just ordered Ovation Cell therapy to give it a try, but after reading many reviews I am scared to use it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I have very fine wavy hair and have always had a problem with frizzy ends and poofy hair during humid days. I have never had tame hair in my life and Ive tried expensive and inexpensive products, including a Keratin blow dry treatment. I finally decided to try the Ovation treatment program and its been about 3-4 months now and honestly I can say its given me a good start for regaining nice hair. In the past, I would have to grab lots of hairs from the drain after the shower. Now, its about a third of what use to fall out. Also, my hair feels smoother, thicker and less frizzy. However, with that said I've also complimented the ovation treatment by doing the following:
    1) I get light hair trims every 4-6 weeks
    2) I wash my hair 3x a week, blow dry it straight in between and avoid the flat irons.
    3) I take Biotin pills 1x a day
    4) I deep condition my hair 1x month with either a basic olive oil, coconut oil, smashed avocado or a "Lush" brand deep conditioner. Whatever is available to you and right for your hair type.
    5) I don't dye my hair. I have a few grey hairs now but to cover them, I use a wonderful Henna product from Lush that gives me extra shine and thickness.

Honestly, its the first time in my life I feel like my hair is bouncy and healthy. I am reordering the Ovation Treatment this month so the initial order did last me about 4 months. Granted it is expensive, I have thin hair so I don't need to use as much so ideally its been worth the investment for me. I hope this review helps others who are on the fence about it.

    1. Can I use this product on natural curly hair?

  31. Hi, I have curly thin hair. I color my hair every 10 weeks and every single time I have to trim my hair because the ends are damaged. Other than coloring my hair I don't do anything like flat iron, curly iron, rubber bands to hold my hair back ...I only use Curls rock, and Identity shampoo and conditioner from Framesi. I don't so much worry about my hair growing faster, I just want my hair to look healthy. Please advise.

    1. The healthiest hair you can have is virgin hair, but not everyone like their natural hair. Coloring your hair will always damage it, but there are so many products that claim to help colored damage hair. I will advise going to a salon to dye your hair and also make sure you find the right person to do the job. Do your research on that stylist and the products that they recommend. (check reviews and find out how long they worked with dye and curly hair)
Your hair will look much healthier when style professionally and your color will last longer than store bought brands. Once you find a stylist you probably want have to get your hair trim as much.
